Though I first started using essential oils to help my son, I found out that oils could help support my recovery journey as well.
My journey in recovery started at a 30-day, in-patient treatment facility in July of 2010. My official clean date is February 18, 2011. If you are in recovery or work in the field, you know addicts don’t want to feel. Not happy, not sad, nothing. No emotions. Numb.
There are many things that are helpful for my recovery – things in my toolkit as I like to say. Essential oils have become one of those tools. Essential oils have helped me manage my emotions, especially when they become uncomfortable. They have also helped with physical ailments from sleeplessness to muscle soreness.
Because of my experience with recovery and the education of essential oils, I started sharing with others in recovery. In fact, I have educated hundreds of people in recovery.
Now my education has gone into the treatment facilities. I am able to educate clinical staff as well as patients, empowering them with a tool that has changed my life.
Please know–essential oils alone will not get you clean or sober. They are a tool for recovery.
